FIELDING PARK

Public BBQ

Fielding Park reveals itself as one of those quietly charming neighbourhood spots that families seem to discover by accident and return to by choice. The park's most striking feature is an ancient tree that commands attention, possibly centuries old, perhaps even older, standing like a natural monument to the area's history. The grounds offer a pleasant enough setting for family gatherings, with seating scattered about for those who fancy a rest. It's the sort of place where you can take a leisurely walk and appreciate the simple pleasure of open space in suburbia. However, the council's maintenance approach appears to follow the "benign neglect" philosophy, grass grows as nature intended, and landscaping upgrades seem to exist mainly in the realm of wishful thinking.
